Custom Wedding Welcome Bags for Texas Fall Wedding

I loved designing these custom wedding welcome bags for Hillary and Tanner. They had an October Boho-Vibe Fall wedding in Texas. They needed 100 bags, so it was quite the labor of love! We loved finding the perfect floral washi tape, fonts and design to compliment their wedding. We included His + Her Picks, Custom Labeled Water Bottles and of course, a Hangover Kit.

Feel free to reach out if interested in having us design your custom wedding bags. Lindsay@thegiftinsider.com

Wedding Series: Gifts We Gave The Day of Our Wedding

It’s been almost a year since our wedding. WOW! This past year we’ve shared 17 Ways We Added Personal Touches to Our WeddingWhat We Put in Our Welcome BagsWhat We Gave Our Bridesmaids and How We Chose Our Wedding Invitations. This post is all about the other gifts we gave the day of our wedding — the gifts for my handsome groom, my wonderful in-laws and my I-Can’t-Thank-Them-Enough parents. Browse below for tips and links to #whatthegiftinsidergave.

Hankie for Mom

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The quote I used for my Mom’s hankie was from one of our favorite books growing up (and I’m sure a lot of yours too!), I loved the idea of using that quote on a hankie. I found the custom floral hankie on Etsy, personalized it with our date and names and chose a style that complimented the robes we gave our bridesmaids and the floral liner of our invitation.

Hankie for Dad

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This hankie I found on Etsy had the perfect, sweet sentiment for my Dad. My Dad tends to be a bit of a happy crier (he’s the sweetest.) So loved the hankie idea for him. All black and white and simple. Something he’ll hold onto forever.

In-Law Wine + Labels

I wanted to give my future in-laws something little yet sentimental. It’s your wedding after all, so don’t go too big and pricey with the gifts for your parents/in-laws. I bought two nice bottles of vino, some gold polka dot wine bags, matching gift tags and pasted on this heartfelt, personalized note.

Cold Feet Socks, Cuff Links and Pocket Square for my Groom

I had one of my bridesmaids deliver my groom a pair of socks with a label that read “In Case You Get Cold Feet” to his door the day of the wedding. Another cute but little Etsy find.

As my main gift, I gave him a pair of simple black cufflinks with our wedding date engraved on the back.

I searched online everywhere for the perfect black and white polka dot pocket square that I had seen on Pinterest. I finally found it 2 days before our wedding at a little shop right down the street from our home! It was perfect.

What were some of the small, sweet and sentimental things you gave the special people the day of your wedding? Tell us below!

Wedding Series: What I Gave My Bridesmaids

bridesmaidgifts

For our latest post in our Wedding Series, I’m talking about what I gave my bridesmaids. I couldn’t choose one gift so I chose a few and stacked them up in true Gift Insider fashion. In case you missed the start to our Bridesmaid gifting journey, be sure to check out our past post on How We Asked Our Bridesmaids. A special thank you to the wonderful 8 ladies who helped make our day so perfect.

I stacked three different sized white boxes from Michaels and tied together with velvet blush ribbon from Minted and stuck on “Worlds Best Bridesmaid” ribbons from Anthropologie (no longer available.) I had a calligrapher from Etsy handwrite gift tags in gold.

GIFT #1

I wrote a little note inside each box that explained why I chose each gift. Gift #1 was a wrap that I found in Paris at my favorite boutique Merci. I chose different style floral for each wrap and it had a little tag that said merci (thank you!). I found them right after we got engaged and thought it was the perfect little token to show them how much I appreciated them.

GIFT #2

I know a lot of people gift jewelry to wear on the day of the wedding, but I wanted to give something they could wear beyond the wedding, so I gifted these thick script initial necklaces from Etsy. Another great line is HL Collection from Tel Aviv. (use GIFTINSIDER10 for 10% off)

GIFT #3

For the final gift, I went with the popular Sugar Plum robe. I loved that they matched the liner of our invitation and the blush vibe of the wedding. I also gave a sleeping mask in the same floral pattern.

“To Have and To Hold- Your Hair Back” Hair Ties

Bachelorette Hair Ties

If the party is a success, majority of you will need to tie your hair up at some point (either due to dancing the night away or because the bride is praying to the porcelain god). Either way, these hair ties are a cute, functional, and customizable.

“Mini Crown” For the Bride-To-Be

It’s important for the bride to stand out but if she’s not so much the fake veil type, these mini crowns are perfect. Understated yet just sparkly enough to catch everyone’s eye.

Personalized Quizzes

No bachelorette party would be complete without a couple of games. Create a custom quiz that tests the guests’ knowledge of the special couple. Start the night off by handing each guest one of these and see who knows the bride best.

Custom Tanks

For a bachelorette weekend, matching tank tops are a great keepsake. Let the jokes on each top reflect each guest and reminisce on old memories while also creating new ones.

Temporary Tattoos

“Kisses From Your Bitches”

At the end of the weekend, have each girl kiss a canvas. Once you are home get it framed and then give it to the bride. We promise every bride will be thrilled to receive this personal and sentimental keepsake that commemorates her “last” wild weekend.

TGI Tip: Try to get each girl to wear a different shade of lipstick. The multiple shades will make for fun and colorful home décor.

What The Gift Insider Registered For: Macy’s Registry Series

As a newlywed and professional gift expert, I thought I’d offer a little guidance and insight into how we tackled the registry process and what we learned along the way. We partnered up with the folks at Macy’s and we’ll be sharing a series of posts focused on: gifts we chose, gifts we wish we had chosen, the latest registry trends and some essential registry must-haves.

First up — a peak at what the hubby and I registered for.

Macys_Collage_WhatTheGiftInsider4

We took a more casual approach to our registry and focused on mixing and matching patterns, textures, metallics and finding pieces that we loved that we could use for both entertaining and everyday. We made sure to add in some quirky and personalized items, a few pops of color and some keep-forever items that we knew we’d never splurge on for ourselves (e.g. a pistachio KitchenAid & crystal candlesticks.)

———

1. Marquis by Waterford Vintage Ice Bucket ($79):

We loved this entire line of vintage-inspired barware. Bar cart essentials were some of the first things to fly off our registry and the under $100 price point will be appreciated by your guests.

2. Mirrored Tray (similar version $200):

You can never have enough trays. A mirrored style can instantly glam up a dull coffee table or cluttered counter. We have trays in every room of our home to keep everything neat, tidy and organized.

3. Simply Designz Bowls ($43):

The different textures combined with the unique metallic shade of these bowls will add a spark of interest to any neutral palate. The trio is perfect for nuts, dips and sauces or even outside the kitchen to keep trinkets or knick knacks organized.

4. Marchesa Caviar Gold Hostess Set ($105):

I loved the idea of having all gold flatware for our table settings, but since the hubby wasn’t sold on the trend, we comprised and went with classic Juliska silverware combined with a few sets of gold serving pieces.

5. Villeroy & Bosh Sushi Set ($170):

We are big fans of sushi carry out and having a set of washable chop sticks, soy sauce dishes and perfectly-sized plates makes sushi nights in much less of a mess.

6. Michael Aram Melamine Plates ($13):

They don’t look it, but these Michael Aram designed plates are melamine (plastic!) They are perfect for outdoor entertaining when you want to step it up from paper plates, but don’t want to have to worry about using anything breakable.

7. Pistachio KitchenAid ($499):

There is nothing like the beautiful rainbow of KitchenAid mixers to help you find your dream kitchen accent color AND help turn you into the Pinterest-perfect baker you always knew you could be. This is the prettiest thing in our kitchen.

8. Michael Aram Bowl ($179):

The brushed texture of the Michael Aram Frost Collection mixes perfectly with golds, coppers and silvers, so we chose a few different pieces from this line and use for both serving and decor.

9. Matching Storage Baskets ($229):

A set of coordinating storage baskets is something most couples forget to add to their registry. Choose a style that goes well with your home decor (we stuck with gray tones) and be grateful you have a solution to store those extra wedding gifts.

10. Lighting By Design Candlesticks ($58):

Some items are just a special treat, saved for a special occasion. These crystal candlesticks are just so, so pretty and one of those things that if we didn’t register for, we would never have bought for ourselves.

If you are looking for more registry inspiration check out our Pinterest Board with some more of what we registered for and some of this season’s must-haves.

This post is part of a new, exciting wedding collaboration with Macy’s.
