Baby Sloane’s Pink and Gold Nursery Reveal

Baby Sloane’s nursery was a true labor of love. Nurseries are always my favorite room to decorate because you can be so playful. I found and fell in love with the mauve fringe chandelier and decided to base the room around that. The room has a mix of muted pink hues with gold and brass accents and tons of different textures — velvet curtains, fur pillows, fringe chandeliers etc. The flower wall was actually the final touch and something I wasn’t originally planning on, but I truly think it pulled it all together.

My favorite parts of her room are the little touches — the brass bow hooks with the framed letter print above and the swan nook with her shoes and special accessories. While her crib and dresser are from Restoration Hardware, I really wanted to find special little things from all over for everything else — her mobile is from an Etsy shop in Italy and reminded me of my wedding dress, her name sign is from a small shop based in Australia, and the print near her door is a print of a letter I fell in love with before I even had Miles.

I linked where I got everything below.

Huge thanks to Apple of Our Eye photography for perfectly capturing the space and these moments.

We loved putting together all of these pieces to create a pretty space for our baby girl. See below for where we purchased everything.

We loved partnering up with Urban Walls for Sloane’s nursery. We used their silver star decals on the ceiling of Miles’ safari-inspired nursery and they are still a huge hit with him. For Sloane’s we decided to do an accent wall behind her crib with the Marigold Blush Floral Mural ($485). I felt it complemented the mauve chandelier and the different pink hues in the room. We also wanted it subtle enough to showcase the gold sign with her name. We are absolutely thrilled with how it turned out and I really feel it pulled the whole room together. It’s stick on panels and removable if she ever wants to change the look of her room. Check out the rest of their decals, murals and wallpaper here.

Miles’ 1st Birthday Cake Smash

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since my little man was born. I’m still in awe that we created this sweet, silly and happy little human and we get to keep him forever. I have all the feels as I’ve been looking through photos and watching videos of our journey this past year. It’s been the hardest, most rewarding, most incredible year and I can’t believe how fast it flew.

We did a fun cake smash photoshoot a little before his actual birthday to celebrate this stage.  He got pretty into the cake smash part of it, and the photos turned out hilarious. Thanks to Stefanie Russo Photography for these priceless shots and Love and Buttercream for the delicious smash cake.

and now, for a few non-cake covered shots.

It was a special day, for a special boy. Check back in a few weeks for shots from Miles’ first birthday party, Camp Miles!

Welcoming Miles Parker Schey

Our adorable little dude entered the world on 5/26/17 at 7:47 am, 6 lb 10 oz and 19 inches long. I’ve been a bit quiet the past few weeks, talking lots of time for as many snuggles and cuddles with my little man as I can possibly get. But I figured it was about time we shared our happiness with all of our Gift Insider friends. Here are a few shots from our newborn photo shoot, captured by Lindsay Jaye Photography.

If you are looking for more shots of the nursery and where we found everything, check out this post here. We’re excited to bring you a lot more baby + kid gift ideas and inspiration now that we are starting out on this new incredible chapter of our lives.

Baby Schey’s Safari-Themed Nursery Reveal

With two weeks until our baby boy arrives, I thought it would be the perfect time to share some shots of his nursery. We went for a playful jungle and safari vibe with a lot of animals and natural textures. Instead of the usual baby blues, we went for a gray and green color scheme that hopefully he’ll like as he grows up. We purchased almost everything online, so scroll through below for where we purchased it all.

Baby Schey’s Safari-Themed Baby Shower

This past weekend my girlfriends threw me the most adorable safari-themed baby shower. I can not get over how absolutely perfect every single little touch was, so I wanted to share it with all of you. While I didn’t plan the party, it was definitely Gift Insider approved!

A shot of my 33 week baby bump and the sweetest hostesses: Lauren, Nicole and Lindsay.

They had colorful chalkboard signs for the food, mimosa bar and favors and gifted me the giraffe decor to use as bookends in our safari-themed nursery.

Eek! How adorable is this elephant fruit tray? Nicole DIY-ed this herself after spotting something similar on Pinterest.

To add some flare to the tables, they had green palm runners, mini gold animals and black, gold and white confetti. White roses were the focal point and they even put little stickers on the hershey kisses that tied it all together.

The desert bar was just insane! They had these green and gold safari-themed treats made that matched the whole party perfectly and we’re *almost* too pretty to eat. More close ups below.

Rice Krispies on top, chocolate covered oreos in the middle and chocolate covered pretzels on the bottom. All with edible gold animals.

And of course, cake pops.

I’m not sure what these are called, but they were delicious.

Nicole and Linds at the mimosa bar.

Lauren DIY-ed these animal cracker mason jar favors with little animals on top. They were delicious and I can’t wait to use the mason jars to store something sweet in baby Schey’s nursery.

Baby Schey was showered with so many cute gifts! He’s already such a lucky boy.

It was such a special day being showered with so much love. The thought that was put into the party meant the world to me.

We’d love to hear about your Baby Showers, tell us in the comments below!
