Featured Guest Post: Gifts For Leos

Leo – July 23 – Aug. 22

With the lion as its animal and an element of fire, it’s no wonder that Leos are masculine and extroverted. They are also positive souls as they have the sign of the sun.

“Sun people are shiny, happy, positive people,” astrologer Steven Stuckey said. “Leos are generally out there and active and bright like sunshine.”

So when gift giving to a Leo, think shiny or glittery, outdoor activities or anything involving socializing.

But, lets not forget that the lion also is a symbol for royalty, so Leos enjoy the finer things of life. They don’t cook the meal, they are served. That’s not to say it must be something fancy and expensive, but each gift you give a Leo needs to be sincere and from the heart. Something that is first class whether it’s fancy or something that is the best thing you could give.

One more trait to pinpoint is that they like to be the leader and are extremely social with an ‘everyone is invited’ type attitude. This feeds into their love of drama, the theatre and anything to do with the movie industry. Again, like the sun, they light up their surroundings and like to be the center of attention.

– Bring out Leo’s social side with a 6-person lounge float that can fit all of his or her friends. Plus, with an MP3 built-in, it’s a float fit for a king!

– Show Leo how much you care by gifting a personalized quote book. All of his or her friends can add their own words of wisdom to the book, making it a unique, first class gift.

– Anything that sparkles will do for a Leo. But if it sparkles and you put thought into it, that’s an extra bonus! Choose a necklace or bracelet when you design your own jewelry. And, as a sun sign, keep to shades of red, orange and gold.

– Give them the royal treatment for a day with a gift like a spa package or personal chef. They will not only enjoy it, but create memories to hold on to.

CND Shellac Nail Spa Sanctuary Event: Tres Chic

20120716-104918.jpg

So Marisa and I were lucky enough to attend this really cool event last week hosted by CND Shellac. Really couldn’t have been a chicer event.  Started off in the Penthouse of the Chicago’s oh-so-fab Waldorf Astoria.  Each guest received a complimentary shellac manicure with fun foil options, sparkles and even the oh-so-amazing Astrowifey nail artist to add any additional flair.  I got a really fun native themed design on three of my coral nails. It’s actually my first time doing any fun nail art, still love looking at my nails.

I’ve been a big fan of the no-chip manicure for the past year-or-so, I’m pretty rough on my nails so I really just love that I don’t have to deal with them for a couple weeks and they look perfect, AND that I don’t have to wait for them to dry after they are finished.

The event finished off with quite the lovely surprise, a gorgeous and talented opera singer and well-known violinist giving us our own private  concert. TRES CHIC!

Have you guys gotten any cool nail art lately? What’s your favorite designs? Tell us!
